Disaster and Risk Reduction (DRR) Assistant
Responsibilities:
The DRRM Assistant will facilitate programs and activities under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management sector to be implemented at the national and Community Development Project (CDP) areas. S/he will be primarily in-charge of hazard monitoring and keeping the management informed of hazard events especially those that could possibly lead to a disaster.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Work, Community Development, or related fields
- At least one (1) year of experience in DRRM, emergency response, humanitarian assistance, or community-based development work; experience in NGO settings is an advantage
- Familiarity with hazard monitoring and early warning information from PAGASA, PHIVOLCS, and other reliable sources
