749 Children Receive Free Medical Check-ups and School Supplies in Prieto Diaz

The Annual Medical Check-up and School Supplies Distribution, key activities under the Child Sponsorship Program of Good Neighbors International Philippines (GNIP), were successfully conducted on May 5–8, 2026, for 749 sponsored children in the Prieto Diaz Community Development Project.

This initiative aimed to uphold children’s rights to health and education by providing free medical consultations and essential school supplies. Through this activity, GNIP continues to support the holistic development of children while helping ensure their readiness for school and overall well-being.

The successful implementation of the activity was made possible through strong collaboration with Generika Pharmacy, the Philippine Medical Society – Sorsogon Chapter, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Prieto Diaz, the Rural Health Unit (RHU), and partner Barangay Local Government Units (BLGUs).

Medical services were rendered by dedicated volunteer doctors led by Dr. Jazel Sabdao Calleja, President of the Philippine Medical Society – Sorsogon Chapter. Volunteer doctors from the same chapter included Dr. Elaine Joyce Dipad, Dr. Jahweh Floralde Encinares, Dr. Jennylyn E. Jacob, Dr. Pamela Mendoza Encinares, Dr. Jess Francis Detera Ayaay, Dr. Shaira Mae G. Urbiztondo, and Dr. Noli Ann Banares. In addition, Generika Pharmacy invited volunteer doctor Dr. Myrene Bernaldez, while the Prieto Diaz RHU was represented by Dr. Khurtain Fontanilla.

Volunteers from the Rural Health Unit, along with Barangay Health Workers and Barangay Local Government Units, were also present to ensure the smooth flow of activities.

Through strong partnerships and community support, GNIP reaffirms its commitment to creating a world without hunger—where people live in harmony—by empowering communities to become self-reliant and fostering hope among children and their families.
