Good Neighbors Philippines Honored for Advancing Disaster Resilience in Surigao del Norte
Good Neighbors Philippines (GNPH) has been honored with two Plaques of Appreciation from local government partners in Surigao del Norte, recognizing the organization's unwavering commitment to disaster risk reduction, management, and community resilience.
The recognitions, received during the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026, highlight the organization’s continued partnership with local government units in strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting sustainable community development across the province.
On July 30, 2026, the Municipal Government of Pilar presented GNPH with a Plaque of Appreciation, signed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Jeasa C. Gonzales, in recognition of the organization's invaluable support in advancing the municipality's disaster risk reduction and management initiatives.
The citation commended GNPH for providing technical assistance, fostering meaningful collaboration, and promoting environmental stewardship. Through these efforts, the organization has helped strengthen community preparedness, improve emergency response capabilities, and safeguard the lives and well-being of Pilar's residents.
A day earlier, on July 29, 2026, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) of Surigao del Norte also recognized GNPH with a Plaque of Appreciation during the province's National Disaster Resilience Month celebration at the Provincial Sports Complex in Surigao City.
Signed by Provincial Governor Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, the award acknowledged GNPH's exceptional support in the successful implementation of National Disaster Resilience Month activities under the 2026 theme:
"Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas" (Preparing and Acting Toward a Secure New Philippines).
