₱4.1 Million in Livelihood Assistance Turned Over to Beneficiaries in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon

11 September 2026 - A total of ₱4.1 million in livelihood assistance was turned over to 35 individual beneficiaries and one cooperative in Prieto Diaz, Sorsogon through the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Integrated Livelihood Program (ILP), marking another milestone in the partnership between DOLE and Good Neighbors Philippines.

Implemented through Good Neighbors Philippines’ Prieto Diaz Community Development Project (PDCDP), the initiative aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities, strengthen local enterprises, and support inclusive economic growth among vulnerable individuals and community groups.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Good Neighbors Philippines’ Country Director Mr. Dongchul Park, General Manager Ms. Visitacion Apostol, and DOLE Sorsogon Provincial Director Mary Jane Rolda, together with representatives from the Sorsogon Provincial Government, the Municipality of Prieto Diaz, and other partner organizations.

Among the supported initiatives is the SEAMANCOR Eco-Developers Service Cooperative’s NAMIT Project (Nurturing Authentic Meals for Innovative Tourism). The project aims to preserve local culinary heritage while creating livelihood opportunities through community-based tourism.

The individual livelihood projects will also benefit senior citizens, youth, Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable individuals, providing them with opportunities to build more productive and sustainable sources of income.

Beyond the financial assistance, the initiative reflects what can be achieved when different sectors bring their resources and expertise to communities. Through the continued collaboration of government, civil society, local organizations, and development partners, livelihood assistance can become a starting point for greater economic opportunities and more resilient communities.
