Health

A Healthier Future for Children, a Quality of Life for all

We aim to:

1) Improve the quality of health through capacity building

2) Improve access to health for vulnerable children, women, persons with disabilities, and community

A. ADOLESCENT SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROGRAM

Good Neighbors Philippines works together with partners to ensure that adolescents, regardless of gender, have access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information and services, and supportive and gender-equitable families and communities through online and offline activities that will build their capacities to promote their empowerment.

B. MATERNAL, CHILD, HEALTH, AND NUTRITION PROGRAM

Good Neighbors Philippines prioritizes First 1000 Days (F1KD) law as a multisectoral intervention within the local healthcare system for the lifelong development of infants and young children. Through the Social Behavior Change and communication approach, local women-led groups, mothers, pregnant women, and adult caregivers also become active advocates of positive maternal and infant health.

C. ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

Good Neighbors Philippines improves access to medical care services for the children and the community. The program focuses on three main pillars of action intended to invest in new ways to accelerate and improve access to basic health services.

These three (3) pillars are 1) Sustainable Health Interventions;  2) Strengthening Governance, and 3) The Participatory Demand Interventions where men and women in the community will engage in capacity/skills training opportunities and transform them into a self-propelling community that can plan, implement and take action to address their health needs.

D. ANNUAL MEDICAL CHECK-UP

Good Neighbors Philippines contributes to the health services as one of the basic rights of a child is for their growth and development. Annual Medical and Dental checkup is done yearly to ensure that the sponsored child in the community receives an overall checkup and assessment of their health status. Medical interventions and dental services are provided to selected underserved areas and communities.

E. SPECIAL CASE SUPPORT

Good Neighbors Philippines provides subsequent medical intervention to sponsored children who need urgent medical treatment, procedure, or other action to prevent or treat diseases or improve their health and well-being.

WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE

Water and sanitation are at the core of the Good Neighbors Philippines mandate for communities and we acknowledge that access to water and sanitation is a human basic right and people, especially children must not be deprived of that.

A.  WASH IN COMMUNITY PROGRAM

Good Neighbors Philippines is constructing a water reservoir and pipeline water distribution in underserved communities to ensure that they have safe and accessible water for drinking.

B. WASH IN SCHOOL PROGRAM

Good Neighbors Philippines is implementing School-Based Management WaSH in the School Program. This integrated project aims to help the school build a disaster-resilient WASH program and create a gender-friendly inclusive, sustainable water and sanitation infrastructure..
