LG Electronics and Good Neighbors Launch Global CSR Project to Deliver Industry-Aligned TESDA Training for Marginalized Youth in Urban Poor and Landfill Communities
A joint global CSR initiative upgrades TESDA’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) curriculum to meet real industry needs—empowering marginalized youth with employable skills and pathways to sustainable livelihoods.

LG Electronics, in partnership with Good Neighbors Philippines and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Rizal, has launched a global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to provide industry-aligned vocational training for marginalized youth in the Philippines.
The program targets youth from urban poor and landfill-adjacent communities—areas often marked by unemployment and limited access to education. Through enhanced training in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) servicing, participants will gain technical skills, life coaching, and job matching or entrepreneurship support. The curriculum has been upgraded in collaboration with TESDA to reflect real labor market demands, ensuring long-term relevance and sustainability.

“This partnership is more than just a collaboration between our organizations. It reflects shared values and a unified commitment to creating lasting change for young Filipinos,” said Mr. Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Electronics Philippines. “At LG, we believe in building a ‘Better Life for All’—especially for those who need it most.”
Mr. Jaechoon Lee, Country Director of Good Neighbors Philippines, noted, “This is not just training—it’s a gateway to hope and opportunity. By combining LG’s innovation with our community reach, we are equipping vulnerable youth with the tools to build dignified futures.”
Founded in Korea in 1991, Good Neighbors is a global humanitarian and development NGO operating in 51 countries, committed to empowering people and transforming communities.
This project represents a long-term, sustainable model of public-private cooperation, combining LG’s technological leadership, TESDA’s institutional strength, and Good Neighbors’ grassroots engagement to ensure inclusive and impactful development for the next generation.
